On Monday morning, October 12th, a water leak was discovered at the intersection of W. Marshal St. and Markley St. This issue turned out to be a large water main that ruptured, which caused an extreme water outage throughout Norristown and surrounding communities. Given the impact to the fire protection system in town, NFD Firefighters staffed an additional engine and Tanker’s, from both in and outside Montgomery County, were brought in to secure and provide a reliable water source in the event of a fire. Tankers remained in town until midnight on Tuesday, the 13th. We would like to thank all the companies that responded so that we could continue to provide the best fire protection possible to the visitors and residents of Norristown.
